Protecting the Most Vulnerable: No Taxpayer Funding for Abortions
This past week, we witnessed an undercover, barbaric video where Planned Parenthood was caught selling body parts of aborted babies. I have joined several of my colleagues in speaking out against Planned Parenthood'’s evil and depraved actions and fully support congressional investigation into the organization. I also urge the Senate to act quickly to pass the House's legislation that assures no taxpayer dollars are used for abortions - H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015.
- An original co-sponsor of H.R. 217, the Title X Abortion Provider Act which clarifies the original intent and spirit of the law to prohibit any Title X grants to Planned Parenthood and any other organization that continue to abuse their privileges as health care providers and fail to protect life by providing abortions.
- Supported House passage of H.R. 7 No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015 – prohibits premium tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies authorized under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) from being granted for health plans that include elective abortion coverage
- An original co-sponsor of H.R. 36, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act which safeguards unborn children and their mothers by limiting abortion past 20 weeks—the stage at which babies are capable of feeling pain at this stage. He was a champion of this crucial legislation being passed through the House and spoke passionately on the House floor to defend our most vulnerable.
