Congressman Mark Walker will be touring Stokes County on Tuesday, March 10, with events lined up throughout the day.

He will start the day with a meeting with Walnut Cove town officials at 9:45 a.m. followed by a tour of the Stokes Early College at 10:30 a.m.

In the afternoon he will host a veteran’s roundtable discussion at the American Legion in King.

“This is an opportunity for all veterans to come in and talk to him about issues they are facing with the VA,” said Walker’s field representative Kyle Hall.

Later that day Walker will meet with area business leaders from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the King Chamber of Commerce.

Walker plans to meet with county elected officials from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., but has announced that meeting will be closed to the press.

Walker will end the day with a town hall meeting from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the King City Council chambers.

“We are having town halls in all 10 counties that Walker represents,” said Hall. “It is an opportunity for him to give an update on what has happened in his time in D.C., the bills and amendments he has passed. It gives an opportunity for the public to talk to him directly.”
