Local Business Praises Walker for His Work on the Passage of the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, May 18th, U.S. Representative Mark Walker (NC-06) attended the bill signing of H.R. 4923, the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act, a bill he was instrumental in helping pass.
“One of my top priorities while serving North Carolina’s Sixth district is to increase jobs and improve the economy so small businesses in North Carolina can thrive. That’s why I am pleased to announce that Congress has passed this jobs-focused bill which provides much needed tax-relief to our local manufacturers and small businesses.” Walker said. “This bill will also allow our manufacturers and small businesses to free up their resources, hire more employees and grow overall business in our local communities. I look forward to the President signing this bill into law and am thankful for the opportunity to lead in the effort.”
C.G. “Lieb” Oehmig IV, President and COO of Glen Raven, Inc. of Burlington, N.C. also released the following statement following the passage of the bill:
“On behalf of every member of our Glen Raven family, I want to thank Congressman Walker for his leadership regarding MTB (Miscellaneous Tariff Bill). He demonstrated a willingness and patience to understand our position on the issue and how the lack of an MTB has impacted our business over the last four years.”
