WALKER: "The Adoption Tax Credit is Pro-Life and Pro-Family"
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Walker (R-N.C.) today released the following statement after House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) addedan amendment to H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, to preserve the adoption tax credit:
“Simplifying our broken tax code means ending carveouts for Washington’s well-connected, but middle-income families looking to adopt – and often save – a precious young life simply does not fit that mold. The adoption tax credit is pro-life and pro-family. I commend Chairman Brady for saving this important provision in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”
Walker was the first member of Congress to call for the readdition of the adoption tax credit in a tweet on November 3rd.
Tax Bill is strong but needs to include adoption tax credit. Providing a home for a child that is unwanted or special needs is pro-life!— Rep. Mark Walker (@RepMarkWalker) November 3, 2017
The amendment from Brady comes on the recognition of World Adoption Day.
