Walker Delivers Meals to Greensboro Urban Ministry Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
GREENSBORO, N.C. - U.S. Representative Mark Walker (R-N.C.) today delivered 100 meals from Stamey’s Barbecue to the Greensboro Urban Ministry.
“Our response to the Coronavirus outbreak will personify our American resilience and ingenuity,” Walker said. “While we all deal with this crisis, it is most important to remember that we are all in it together and can do our part to help our senior citizens and those in need.”
Greensboro Urban Ministry is a 501(c)(3) that has been serving the Greensboro community for over 50 years. Here, volunteers help those in need find food, shelter, and solutions while they get back on their feet.
Walker purchased and delivered the meals from Stamey’s Barbecue, a Greensboro establishment, in an attempt to serve the community while also helping local restaurants and service workers.
Both Walker and all volunteers followed Centers for Disease Control (CDC’s) guidelines for social distancing and sanitary standards amid the Coronavirus outbreak.
