Press Releases

April 1, 2020 Press Release
In April, we ask our nation to come together in prayer at Noon each day to help lift up those suffering from COVID-19, protect our health care professionals and first responders, and bring clarity and strength to the Coronavirus Task Force and state public health officials leading our response.
March 27, 2020 Press Release
Our country was just given a frustrating choice: help American families, small businesses, and healthcare workers during an unprecedented need, while caving to some pork cravings of the D.C. political class or do nothing and watch people continue to hurt. The blatant political gamesmanship and imperfections of the CARES Act should not ultimately distract us from what this legislation will do - provide hope and a lifeline to the nearly 100,000 people in North Carolina who filed for unemployment last week, the nurse at Moses Cone who is working overtime with limited supplies, and the small business owner in Asheboro doing her best to keep every employee paid. People are hurting. Ultimate, I believe this bill will lift up the people of North Carolina and put us on the path to coming back even stronger.”
March 25, 2020 Press Release
Nearly 85 percent of businesses in North Carolina have fewer than 20 employees. We are working hard to make sure every single one of them knows that they are heard, we feel their struggles, and we are going to do everything we can to ensure they have the help and resources and help they need to weather this storm and keep our communities strong. I want our North Carolina small business owners to be the most prepared and informed in the country.
March 24, 2020 Press Release
Struggling Americans don’t need the political tactics and radical agenda-setting of the Washington political class while they face a crisis. They need strong consensus and leadership to protect our families, senior citizens, and the lifelong dreams tied to our economy. Until they can get over their bickering, I urge my colleagues to join me in forgoing pay until they can choose people over politics and get a relief bill to President Trump’s desk.
March 21, 2020 Press Release
Tom’s continued dedication to mentoring North Carolina’s students has created lasting impacts for years to come. Our community is stronger because of the selfless work of people like him who empower and guide our youth to success.
March 19, 2020 Press Release
Our response to the Coronavirus outbreak will personify our American resilience and ingenuity. While we all deal with this crisis, it is most important to remember that we are all in it together and can do our part to help our senior citizens and those in need.
March 18, 2020 Press Release
During times like these, we all have a responsibility to look after our neighbors and give our communities the love and support they need. I commend Sheriff Simmons and his wife for doing their part to deliver meals since 1991 - their work is more important now than ever in supporting our senior citizens as we deal with the effects of the Coronavirus outbreak.
March 13, 2020 Press Release

GREENSBORO, N.C. - U.S. Representative Mark Walker (R-N.C.) today announced that he will be hosting a telephone town hall with North Carolina Director of Emergency Services Mike Sprayberry and Wake Forest Baptist Chief Medical Officer Dr. Erik Summers on Tuesday, March 17th at 6:00 PM E.T.

March 11, 2020 Press Release
Access to your own name, image and likeness is a basic civil right. For too long, our student-athletes have been denied these rights and denied a voice by the NCAA. I look forward to working with this bipartisan caucus to tackle this injustice by insisting the NCAA to finally follow through on their long-broken promises for change.
March 4, 2020 Press Release
“When we came to Congress, we made a promise to serve all North Carolinians, regardless of background, and work to open doors of hope and opportunity. We quickly learned that HBCUs were integral to that effort and that you can have a ‘R’ by your name, but build genuine relationships and create opportunities across all the communities you represent. These efforts are some of my most proud accomplishments in the House. I am blessed with bridges we have built across communities and know they will have a lasting and positive impact for generations of students.”
